Bi-weekly Newsletter


Things we covered:
- Practiced lining up, sitting on the carpet in a circle, where to put lunch bags, water, and backpacks, how to change from indoor to outdoor shoes and vice versa. 
- Learned each others names using the who ate the cookie from the cookie jar game.
- Made I am in Kindergarten crown and took a picture holding the 'first day of kindergarten' sign.
- Made the Hajj craft and circled the Kaaba as we learned about the pillars of Hajj.
- Made the sheep craft and learned about the story of prophet Ismail and the sacrifice.
- Enjoyed listening to Eid songs and distributed Eid loot bags.
- Learned how to grasp a pencil and trace a straight line from right to left.
- Learned how to hold scissors safely and cut in a straight line.
- Learned the number 1 in Arabic (Wahed). Allah is 1.
- We started talking about living things and non-living things.

Please note that I read the stories to the students in Arabic. I also read Arabic story books on a daily basis.

Activities for home:
- Tell the story of building the Kaaba, the story of Zamzam, and the story of the sacrifice to your child or watch them as a cartoon together.
- Practice holding scissors and cutting in a straight line with your child.
- Practice holding a pencil and tracing a straight line.
- Practice washing hands properly with your child (water, soap, water, dry). 

Help me review:
- The Islamic greeting (السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته) and how to respond to it (وعليكم السلام ورحمة الله وبركاته).
 -Eating, nap time, and washroom Duaa's.

- Surat Al-Fatiha.
- Counting number 1 (Wahed واحد).
