Theme: At Home في البيت

And Allah has made for you from your homes a place of rest

Spring is here!
Please make sure to provide your child with rain boots, rain coats, rain pants, and extra clothes. No umbrellas are allowed in school as they are not safe for students at this age.

Arabic Language اللغة العربية:
- We are working on finishing our theme في البيت (At home). Students should be able to use a vocabulary tied to home. غرفة النوم، غرفة الجلوس، غرفة الطعام، المطبخ، الحمام، حديقة البيت(Bedroom, living room, dining room, kitchen, washroom,  backyard…etc).
- We are done learning the letters:
 ظ: ظفر ، ظبي، ظرف، ظهر
ع:  عنب، عنكبوت، عمر، عبدالرحمن، عثمان
غ:  غراب ، غزال، غادة، غمامة، غابة
-          We are expected students to bring items related to “ at home” theme for show and tell.
- Masha’ Allah I am very pleased with the outstanding work the students do when they are chosen to be the teacher’s helper.

Math الحساب:
- Students learned the number 7.
- Learned to identify the diamond shape “المعين”. Students tried to make the shape with their bodies. Students should be able to identify the circle, square, triangle, rectangle, heart, oval, star, and diamond shapes by now.

-Working on one-to-one correspondence.

Islamic Studies التربية الإسلامية:
- Students are learning a new Duaa’ الحمد لله الذي أطعمنا وسقانا وجعلنا مسلمين to be said after eating.
- In relation to school’s trait: Cleanliness, we are talking to individual students about the importance of having a clean tongue and how to maintain it clean by saying استغفر الله العظيم.

Science العلوم:
-          We talked about the signs of spring and how the weather is changing. We focused on the migration of the geese and made a nice experiment to hear the voice of the quacking geese. You can make it at home too:

Bring a paper cup (not foam, not plastic).
Make a slit at the bottom.
Tie a wool thread to a paper clip.
Insert the paper clip from the slit at the bottom of the cup.
Pull the thread out of the cup.
Bring a wet sponge, close it around the thread, and pull from the top to the bottom of the thread.
You will hear a goose voice.
Enjoy!

Arts الفنون:
-          We are working on making a booklet titled at home with all the pictures of different rooms of the house.
