2-      Show and Tell:
We will start our regular show and tell on Tuesday, November 25, Insha’Allah.  Show & tell will help the children’s oral and visual communication skills and will be a good practice for an upcoming project Insha’Allah!
Each student will have one day in the week for show & tell. The children can bring in toys, however I encourage them to bring other items to share, preferably theme related items. For our current theme “Allah the creator” they can bring in their baby pictures, an animal toy, a fruit or a vegetable, leaf, anything that Allah created.
If you are sending an item for show & tell that requires extra care, send me a small note with your child and I will try and make sure it comes back to you safely!
-          Please check the schedule below to know the day of your child’s show and tell.

3-    Parent-Teacher Interviews:
Jazakum Allahu Khyran for all the parents who showed up at the interviews and shared their concerns with us. It’s amazing to see how all parents are concerned about their children’s social development and not only the academic achievement. You can rest assured that we will work more on that, Insha’Allah. By now the teacher can tell every student’s strengths and weaknesses, who they like and what they prefer, what strategy to follow with which student…etc.  All of that will be in our minds when we change the seating plan in December, Insha’Allah.

4-    Last potluck night:
Jazakum Allahu Khyran for all your help and support that you showed at the potluck night. It was very successful Alahmdulilah. We are now thinking of our next one, but we would like to take your opinion on when to do it and if you have any ideas that you would like us to do. You can share your ideas by emailing them to us. Below are some ideas for the next parent gatherings:
-          Bike-riding night in the gym: (Students bring in their bicycles and ride it in the gym following specific instructions in Arabic).
-          Abraar Market night: (Parents bring in some fruits, vegetables, clothes, toys …etc and set a table in the gym. Students take fake money and try to buy what they like. Communication will only be in Arabic. Students and parents try their best to talk in Arabic asking to buy items and ask for their prices).
-          Art night: (Students rotate between different stations making arts and crafts using art material. They talk in Arabic naming the materials, shapes and colors they use).
-          For are going to need parent volunteers for all the gatherings.
-          Movie night. We can show a cartoon in Arabic.

5-    Volunteers:
There are many parents who are always offering us help, Mash’Allah! Your help is always needed and highly appreciated. If you are willing to help, kindly choose one of the areas you can help in from the list below:
-          Filing.
-          Preparing crafts (cutting, coloring, etc…) on Tuesdays.
-          Reading a story in Arabic.
-          Tutoring students who need extra help.
-          Making scholastic orders.
-          Classifying pictures and videos and producing them if necessary.
-          Make trips to Dollarama to buy supplies from classroom’s petty cash.
-          Organizing classroom’s library.
-          Field trips.
